Intelligent Activation.

Westcotec Intelligently activated signs use are triggered using a plethora of roadside sensors, as well as being able to display particular messages under different scenarios.

For example, using Westcotec supplied or existing air quality monitors with our roadside radar classifying technology, when air pollution reaches a pre-determined threshold, HGV’s can be diverted away from these areas until the level is reduced.

Another example is our Collision Avoidance System (CAS). Our CAS uses above ground thermal cameras at crossroads and junctions to detect vehicle positions and movements. When a vehicle is detected to be waiting to join the main road, or a vehicle on the main road is waiting to turn into a side road, an electronic warning sign can display VEHICLE TURNING or VEHICLE EMERGING dependant on the situation.
